"Taking the title of this new publication from 1 Corinthians 9:22, and surrounding that title with the fuller Greek and Sanskrit text of that verse, declares the main objective of this little magazine. Perhaps it is a bit presumptuous, or even intimidating; nonetheless it exposes the heartbeat motivating this venture:
The effective communication of New Testament truth to Hindu peoples.
Contextualisation has become a key word in Christian circles, and the practical meaning of contextualisation in terms of our Hindu friends will be our main theme. As the apostle Paul sought to be all things to all men, so to effectively communicate the gospel to Hindus we must enter fully into the cultures, languages, needs and aspirations of our Hindu friends. Sensitive friendships are of course our most basic step toward learning about Hinduism and how to effectively share the gospel in the Hindu context. But study of Hinduism will also be necessary; for our own understanding, but also to win the respect of Hindus and to prove our high regard for the Indian cultural tradition.
